A daycare dogs routine:
- In the morning, each one of our daycare dogs is greeted by our wonderful and loving staff here at Chapel Hill Pet Resort. They are escorted to the back part of our facility and are set up into a group to play for the day.
- Once groups have been established, they are then taken to one of our yards in the back where they are free to run and play with other pups in the group.
- There is ALWAYS a staff member (or two) out with the dogs to make sure that things run smoothly. They are never left alone in the yards as our number one priority is safety for our friends.
- Most days, your pup can plan to spend approximately 4 hours in the morning out playing. They are brought inside for extra drinks and some cooler air on hotter days to ensure that they don't get over heated. Our yards are shaded so there is a place out of the sun for your pet to hang out in if needed as well as pools for our pups to cool off in.
- All of our dogs are escorted back inside for the afternoon break which runs from 12PM-3PM daily. Many people wonder why we do this. The break is designed to give your dog a much needed nap during the day. As with any person, your dog will get pretty tuckered out playing hard all morning. Unlike people, dogs don't always know when to stop. The break gives them some much needed time alone so they are not bothered by another dog. During this time, your dog will get a treat and be rested for their afternoon of fun.
- At 3PM, all staff is back in the building and getting all of our dogs back outside is a priority. Your dog can plan to get back out and play immediately where they will remain until it's time to go home.
- When our pup's mom and/or dad come to pick them up at the end of their day, our staff will escort your dog back to the front office where you can be sure they will be not only happy to see you but ready for some cuddle time since they have already gotten their energy out for the day! Some puppy parents may find that their dog appears to be much better behaved. This is because your dog is getting their energy out and they are occupied, which can decrease behavioral issues at home.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How are groups selected?
Groups are selected by our excellent staff based on your dog's age, size and temperament who have been trained to do so by Doggy Tails LLC. The reason we select our groups this way is to ensure that each dog has a great experience while they are visiting us. We also have a trainer on staff who has 20 years of experience. We accept all dog breeds and all ages.
What can I expect from my dog after being at daycare?
Many parents may find that their 4 legged best friend appears to be lethargic after they get home. This is normal as your pup has played hard with their other friends and expended much more energy than s/he does otherwise. Some parents may find that their dog is tired/lethargic for a couple of days after spending time at our facility, which is also normal.
Do you offer daycare on weekends?
YES! We know that some of our parents have to go to work on the weekends, so we make it easy to find daycare for your dog(s) during that time. We offer daycare 7 days a week and there is no difference in our daycare routine, or price whether it is the weekend or weekday. Your dog does not have to attend daycare on a daily basis, but the option is there for them to attend as many times a week as you are working. Our facility is only closed to the public three days a year which is Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Do you have pick up and drop off services?
Our customers may have seen our Doggy Daycare shuttle. Although it is not currently being used at this time, we are in the process of finalizing plans to get this up and running! We will have more information as the launch date for this gets closer, but we can assure you it is in the works and will be a wonderful option. Afterall, what dog doesn't love to take a drive!
We take pride in ensuring that we create a safe environment for your pup to have fun in and hope that you will consider checking out our facility. We would like to extend a big thank you to our wonderful current customers for trusting us with your special fur-baby. We are honored and excited that you chose and continue to choose our facility for your pup to spend their days at. For our future guests who we have not had the pleasure to meet, we thank you for your consideration and hope to have the opportunity to meet you and your fur-baby soon!
